The IV International Energy Forum “Innovations. Infrastructure. Safety” will take place at President Hotel on December 18, 2012.

The International Energy Forum is an economical, social and political event focused on the implementation of energy-saving technologies, development of the oil and gas industry, environment conservation and alternative and electric-based energy. In addition, the questions regarding the application of cutting-edge technologies in the energy sector is being considered at the Forum.

The mission of the event is to outline the strategic tasks which the energy sector is facing in the mid-term and to discuss ways of to fulfill them, establish effective cooperation between government authorities, industrial unions and associations, academia and representatives of the industrial and financial sector in order to develop recommendations for key for the modernization and technological development of the energy sector, as well as its integration into the global economy and safety measures to be adopted for both existing and outstanding infrastructure projects.

The International Energy Forum “Innovations. Infrastructure. Safety” will be opened by a Plenary Session on “Energy sector. Modernization and innovation-based development”.

There will be a number of specialized sessions held within the framework of the Forum focused on the key strategic trends in the long-term state energy policy.

The Forum is supported by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. Organizational and analytical support is provided by the National Agency of Strategic Initiatives.

The "Innovations. Infrastructure. Safety" International Energy Forum initiative is also supported by the representatives of political departments of the Russian Federation, the heads of the regions of the Russian Federation and leading experts and representatives from other countries.

Over one thousand people have participated in the International Energy Forum during its three-year history. Representatives from over 40 regions of Russia visited the International Energy Forums.

The permanent participants of the Forum are heads of the Russian enterprises and leaders of CIS countries, representatives of the relevant ministries and administrations and the RF Government, deputies of the State Duma, representatives of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, experts and academic communities, major Russian public organizations, business and public policy mass media.

Gapanovych, the Senior Vice-President, chief engineer of RZhD OJSC; V.F. Yakovlev, the legal counselor to the President of the Russian Federation; M.F. Bashyrov, the Director for interaction with state authorities and strategic communications of KES CJSC, and the heads of over 300 enterprises in Russia and CIS countries are annually engaged in the International Energy Forum as session moderators and key speakers.

It is not a coincidence that the Forum has international status. Representatives of companies and business communities from the former Soviet Union and elsewhere are involved in it.

“The territory of business development” will be opened this year for the purposes of successful practical results from participation in the Forum. It is the business networking area as well as the platform for efficient projects presentation and conclusion of new partnership relations. The territory will include an exhibition, networking area, subcontracts exchange market (series of preliminary scheduled meetings and discussions) and also a possibility to present own projects and ideas.

The specific feature of the Forum is that it always attracts a lot of mass media including specialized, public policy and business media.

Every year the Forum is visited by more than one hundred journalists from national and regional mass media outlet including TV channels like Russia 24, Expert, RBK, First Business Channel; radio stations: Voice of Russia, Russian News Service, Kommersant FM, City FM, and Business FM. Published news sources are presented by newspapers Rossiyskaya gazeta, Parlamentskaya Gazeta and magazines like RBK, Rossiiskaya Federatsiya Segodnya, Initsiativy XXI Veka, and many others.

All the proposals from the event participants regarding key items on the Agenda are included in the International Energy Forum Resolution which is forwarded to the subject Ministries of the RF Government, Committees of the RF State Duma and the Presidential Council on economy modernization and innovative development of the Russian Federation as recommendations during decision-making.
